Exciting news from the Toronto Zoo — a newborn Bactrian camel calf was born on April 30, 2026! 🐪 In this video, you’ll get a first look at the adorable baby camel spending time with its mother, Suria, in the Bactrian camel enclosure located in the Eurasia Wildlife Zone.

This is Suria’s third calf with male camel Zip, and with this new arrival, the Toronto Zoo’s Bactrian camel herd has now grown to seven camels. Both mother and baby are doing well, and zoo staff are closely monitoring them during this important early bonding period.
